Last night we had our first in-person meeting and I wanted to thank everyone who came!
We covered a variety of topics, ranging from our concerns about new bills being proposed at the state and federal level, current cases being litigated in the courts, and how we should grow the group and get more people involved.
We believe that the easiest way to grow the group and and promote participation, is if we focus our efforts what The People really want. The People want to get their 2A their rights back, and to send hot lead down range!
With that being said we’re proud to announce that the Kern County Gun Owners are going to start an initiative to make Kern County a Second Amendment Sanctuary County. We’re fed up with tyrannical politicians from Sacramento stripping our rights away, and we’re not going to allow our local government and local police agencies to enforce unconstitutional laws against us!
We’re going to be reaching out to every gun shop, gun range, shooting and hunting club, and every firearm trainer/instructor, as well as youth organizations, churches, and other 2A friendly businesses and non-profits. We’re going to Unionize the voices of every Second Amendment supporter in Kern County and demand change!
Another goal of ours is to promote firearm education and training. Guns are almost useless if you don’t know how to use them, so we’re going to be scheduling firearms trainers as guest speakers for our monthly meetings. With that being said, we’re not going to be doing live fire training at the Petroleum Club, but we are going to provide a platform for our local businesses to promote themselves and pass as much info to our members as possible. We would also like other 2A groups and organizations to guest speak and talk about their groups and upcoming events that are planned around the county. If you would like to get on our speaker schedule, please email me ASAP.
We do want to start scheduling range days and events soon as well, and I promise I will keep you all updated with more details.
Thank you again, and if you have any questions, feel free to call or email me any time!
